Faculty and Platform Party

The Platform Party includes the UCI Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, deans, distinguished speakers, student speakers, Marshals, Readers and additional faculty from the school. If you are part of the Platform Party, please click here for more details.

Any faculty member not participating in the ceremony requires a ticket for entry into the Bren Events Center. Faculty tickets may be obtained from their school’s academic counselors prior to Friday, June 13, 2008.

Student Volunteers (Banner Carriers)

The Banner Carriers play a prestigious and important role in the Commencement Ceremonies. They lead the Bachelor’s candidates or Platform Party down the aisle. They also direct the graduating students onto and off of the stage.

Honorary Banner Carriers are selected from current UCI students who are not graduating in 2008. Five to seven Banner Carriers are needed for each ceremony. Apply to be a UCI Honorary Banner Carrier using the online form.
